Our History

Recording studio 'Cool Sound' was founded in Varna in February 1998 by Krasimir Iliev – a musician and arranger with a passion for quality sound and high standards in music production. Since its founding, the studio has established itself first at the local level, and subsequently throughout the country, thanks to precise arrangements, excellent sound, and consistent professional approach.

The combination of in-depth technical knowledge, careful selection of equipment, and distinguished musical sense allows Krasimir Iliev to achieve balanced, clean, and reliable sound – a key factor both in studio recordings and in the creation of professional instrumentals and backing tracks. Even before the studio's founding, he became recognized for his arrangements.

Over the years, the studio has been a place for recordings and creative collaboration with numerous established Bulgarian performers and musicians, including Margarita Hranova, Desi Dobreva, Deyan Nedelchev, Tedi Genev, Tony Tomova, and many others. These projects have contributed to building the studio's strong reputation as a reliable partner in the music industry.

Awards and Recognition

Krasimir Iliev's professionalism has been recognized with numerous arrangement awards, including:

• 2002 – Third Prize for Arrangement, Spring Competition of Bulgarian National Radio ('Blue Room' – Tedi Genev)
• 2007 – First Prize for Arrangement, International Television Festival – Malta
• 2019 – Third Prize for Arrangement, 'Children's Melody of the Year' ('Forget-me-not')
• 2020 – Second Prize for Music and Arrangement, 'Children's Melody of the Year' ('Yellow Hat')

He has arranged songs and albums for artists such as Tony Tomova ('The Apple of Sin', 'Conversation with Her'), Tedi Genev ('My Flower'), Dono Tsvetkov ('Hello, Sunshine', 'Rainbow'), Teni Omede ('The World'), and others.

Today 'Cool Sound' is managed by a new team that continues the studio's established professional approach. With the same commitment to quality sound and attention to detail, we now focus on audio theater and audiobooks, transforming them into a true sound experience. While developing these new projects, we maintain and preserve our rich catalogue of high-quality instrumentals, which we are recognized for.

Our mission is to provide high-quality instrumentals suitable for competitions, festivals, concerts, and stage performances of any scale. We consciously maintain symbolic prices with the goal of supporting young artists taking their first steps on stage.
